Ignight’s Favorite Colorado Mountain Wedding Venues

Dreaming of a very Colorado wedding? Our favorite wedding venues in the mountains are some of Colorado’s best spots for incredible ceremonies and receptions.

Devil's Thumb Ranch - Located across 6,500 acres near Winter Park, Devil’s Thumb Ranch (DTR) offers one-in-a-lifetime weekend-long wedding experiences and loads of outdoor activities. We love DTR’s High Lonesome Barn both as a canvas for beautiful lighting and draping, and also for it’s wonderful acoustics for live musicians.

Headwaters at Winter Park - Located right on the river in Winter Park, Headwaters has many indoor and outdoor options for ceremonies and receptions. The main reception hall features wood beams that rise up into vaulted ceilings, making this one of our favorite places to do string lighting above the dancefloor! If you get too hot from dancing, you can open the massive barn doors to cool off on the deck outside.

Della Terra - Oh so romantic and luxurious, Della Terra stole our hearts many years ago. If you get the chance to stay there, their overnight accommodations feature spa tubs and delicious room service. Della Terra’s ceremony site is one of the best in the Rocky Mountains, and features a small amphitheater with lots of wildlife.

The Surf Hotel - Located in the heart of Buena Vista, the Surf hotel is an experience all to itself. From the rushing white water rapid park to the charming Wesley & Rose lobby bar, there is a laid-back sense of luxuriousness at this mountain wedding venue. The Surf features an in-house audiotechnik sound system that was designed by Brown Note Productions. It definitely sounds amazing, and the Surf also includes a lighting technician to run the lighting cues during your reception. Stellar!

Camp Hale - Want to be completely surrounded by nature in the mountains? Originally an Army camp in the 1940s, Camp Hale has transformed itself into a waterfront ceremony site and tented reception paradise. It’s a great place for outdoor enthusiasts to express their love for skiing, fishing and even ATVs… all while getting married. We love the night sky, so bright and full of stars, at this remote wedding venue.
